Hey there, fellow art lovers and adventure seekers! Ready to step into a world bursting with creativity, community, and color? Then make your way to the brand-new Umbrella Alley 2.0 in Fisherman’s Wharf, now open at 366 Jefferson Street, San Francisco.
The original Umbrella Alley, launched in 2019, became a local legend — a kaleidoscope of murals, joy, and imagination. Now, it’s back and better than ever, with seven completed murals and even more magic in the works. Here are five colorful reasons why you absolutely can’t miss it!
Umbrella Alley 2.0 isn’t just a destination — it’s an evolving art project powered by San Francisco’s creative spirit. The walls are alive with murals from beloved Bay Area artists like Brian Huber, 3Nolam, Skyebot, and Luke Dragon. Each piece tells a story — from the dreamy California Adventure VW Bus to the bold Dragon Koi mural and the heartfelt I Left My Heart in San Francisco balloon mural.
And here’s the best part: new art is constantly being added. Every visit offers something new, something colorful, and something distinctly San Francisco.
Unlike traditional galleries, Umbrella Alley is alive, changing, and always in motion. You might catch muralists painting on-site, see a fresh wall going up, or even chat with an artist while they’re adding their final touches.
Currently in progress is the Luinova Umbrella Mural, a bright and whimsical nod to the Alley’s namesake. Visitors can expect upcoming masterpieces like San Francisco Homies by Yonmeister, California Blooming by amillionair, and the Greetings from San Francisco mural by Maxfield Bala arriving in spring 2026.
If you remember the original Umbrella Alley, you’ll recall the breathtaking canopy of floating umbrellas that made every photo feel like a dream. Those overhead installations are returning soon!
The colorful umbrellas will once again dance above visitors’ heads in winter and spring 2026, completing the new Alley’s transformation into a full sensory experience. Until then, the murals themselves are more than enough to dazzle your camera roll.
Some of the Bay Area’s most recognizable artists have already left their mark on Umbrella Alley 2.0:
Rainbow Rain by Brian Huber – a splash of pure joy.
See the World by 3Nolam & Brian Huber – a vibrant invitation to explore.
California Dreaming – a collaborative masterpiece by 12 Bay Area muralists.
Coming soon: Fisherman’s Wharf Honey Bear by Fnnch, Monarch Wall by Maxfield Bala & Jeremy Novy, and a new Heart mural by Kate Tova. Each piece celebrates San Francisco’s artistic soul and sense of community.
Every visit to Umbrella Alley helps sustain local artists and keep public art alive in San Francisco. The Alley is a small, artist-run attraction supported by donations, volunteers, and art lovers like you.
Stop by, snap photos, make a donation, or grab a piece of Alley-inspired merch — T-shirts, hats, and stickers designed by the same artists who bring this vibrant place to life.
